Last week, Omaha healthcare company Fusion held its 4th annual bags tournament to benefit the Nebraska Humane Society. The company event raised $5,140 that will help the nonprofit care for the more than 80 animals waiting to be adopted.
“This event is a huge piece of who we are and what our team is passionate about,” said Chief People Officer Jackie Froendt. “We all feel so much pride when we hold events like this that benefit our community. It’s especially rewarding after a week of working hard to be able to unwind and raise some money for the Nebraska Humane Society.”
More than 50 employees participated in the bags tournament Friday afternoon. The company provided beverages and brats while two brackets were played. One competitive bracket and one just-for-fun bracket took place while representatives from NHS introduced an adoptable pup to Fusion employees.
The NHS bags tournament is just one event that Fusion holds each year to benefit local causes. Earlier in the spring, the company gathered at Top Golf to raise funds for MS Forward, a local gym that supports individuals in the community who have been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and other neurological challenges.
